III. Literature as a Platform in Education for Sustainable Development

     Literature serves as a Platform in Education for Sustainable Development.

Why platform in Education?Since it introduces customs and traditions then it has a crucial relevance to education.It is through literary works widely used as an educational tool that incorporates us towards knowing and scrutinizing different races. Education takes place at this point, simply because we are now aware and mindful of how they manage to live.

     Development comes after education. how does education lead to development. Some would say that intellect is much needed that education, which is totally a misconception- well,intellect refers to knowledge while education is more of an application of that knowledge. It is through this "application of knowledge" that the quality of life is being brought up. When this happens it is certain that development is relished. Development comes about not just by seeing those tall and well-structured buildings but also by comprising morals and values.

       Sustainability empowers development. Why it is empowering? Development might appear as if it already enough, but it is not. We should think and ponder on ways and means how to sustain this. One thing is discipline, which basically enforces obedience. Control should also be considered, for everything is in restraint. Control is for the standard and caliber of education while discipline is for the attitude towards it. So these are the guiding points that might as well sustain development.

IV. Reflection in Literature

   
 On the first day of class in literature, I felt a bit of nervous and excitement. Because it is literature, I thought we could have some acting or drama's, and I get nervous because I don't know how to act and I am so conscious to speak in front of people,but otherwise I find it exciting!.
    On the first day of meeting I don't listen carefully in our topics,it is reporting and I found it boring.We should tell the story of our legends in front of our classmates without any copies.It is not actually because I'm not interested to listen but because I can't hear exactly what they talking about and they talk so fast and I can't take note what they says, that's why I choose not to listen.But after the reporters done we will having a surprise quiz. Since that I manage to listen carefully so that I could answer the quiz next time.
    We discussed different legends and what lessons can we get in each legends,like in "The First Butterflies",we learned that if you truly love the person you should be patient to win his/her love and we should not judge the outward appearance of a man,just like God when He chose David to be king of Israel, He doesn't look in the outward appearance but He looks in the heart. In the legend of ,"The Pineapple". parents should not pampered their children too much,they should let them be a responsible one so that they will not be dependent to their parents at all times.One proverbs that caught my attention."Don't set sail using someone else's star", it means that just someone has been successful at doing something it does not mean you will be successful at doing the same thing.
    Our last lesson is all about ballads and epics.We search one ballads song by Kenny Rogers and reflect it in our own real life experience. We also tackle different epics like Ibalon or Handiong of Bicol, Ulod of Matigsalog which is the longest epic,

V. Integration of Education for Sustainable Development to Literature

    As education presents habitual practices and inherited patterns of action of races and religious groups we tent to pay our attention to what others might need.Development happens throughout integration of educations. Diverse interpretation of it are being meld to a deeper understanding.

    How important Integration of education is, when it comes to sustainable development? We all realize that education is a gradual process of acquiring knowledge in the idea of bestowing its quality one thing at a time. On account of this, integration must be thought of and considered. Since the collection of perception, learning and reasoning longs but for a moment, education ought to be integrated. it shouldn't be limited in one way or another and by this it should undergo fusion with other profound knowledge.

    Education  and its integration had better be done once in a while to be able to lengthen and extend development's duration. And to savor prosperity it is sustainable development that should be gone through. It is one of the basics needed to fight crisis as well. It is likened to crutches of a crippled man, which definitely helps him bear with the situation. To sum it up these three elements(education, integration and development) embody a set of order. Education should be attained first, integration should be opting and development should be sustained.
